Dean Mosher

Dean Mosher is the owner of Dean Mosher Studio in Fairhope, Alabama. As a historian and an artist, he has created the “Great Moments” Series, a collection of paintings meticulously depicting historical United States Naval battles.  In addition to battle scenes, the “Great Moments” series also contains portraits of historical naval figures such as John Paul Jones and Commodore Thomas Macdonough as well as a painting portraying the only time Wilbur and Orville Wright ever flew together. Several of Mosher’s paintings are displayed at the United States Naval Academy and the United States Coast Guard Academy as part of their permanent collections. In recognition of his successful efforts to consolidate and preserve the archives of the Naval Order of the United States, Mosher was elected to the post of Historian General of the society in 2002 and was awarded the Commander General’s Medal in 2006.
